You knw when one word in one language can mean a totally different thing in another?

Just yesterday I learnt frm the call centre ladies who sit at the cubicles across mine that "Mahal" in Filipino means Love. While it means Expensive in Indonesian/Malay. So, they were concluding that Love is Expensive. That statement is kinda true. You need money for courtship, marriage, kids, etc, etc.

The call centre ladies are the earliest to come every morning. Even when I come at 8.05am they are the only ones here. And today shortly after my arrival, they went for a meeting. So it's all quite dwn here. Cos they are the chatterboxes here, even I am quiet in the office. Amazing huh? Cos I'm seldom quiet. Wahaha...
