I think that i've done injustice to my friend in my previous entry. As it wasnt her idea to call me and tell me those things. SHe just did what she was supposed to do, as it was a forfeit. And it was a group thing not an individual one, so i shdn't have asked her to apologise to me. My fault, sorry gal. To everyone, I'd just wanna say that i've put the matter behind me. So there's no need to bring it up anymore, and i am OK alrdy. So everything is back to normal le.
Cheers!
I fgt to say that YJ Winds (YJC band) gt Silver in this year's SYF. The band has really came aloooong way since my days back then, when mr darren sim took over the bathon frm mr lim who abondoned us, despised us and bad mouthed us in frnt of the other band he was condcting. I am grateful that Mr Sim took over that year, eventhough he didnt want to at 1st. But according to him, he saw an eagerness to learn, sincerity and blah blah blah (read it up in his blog for more details) in our eyes. That was what made him wanna take us. We were the abandoned band that no one wanted, even our own college principal looked down on us back then. The band size was super small with a strength of over 20 something members, there were only 2 trumpeters. Which meant that if i didnt turn up for practice, shareen wld be alone and vice versa. I really dreaded prctice back then, but some where along the way i began to grow a liking for it. haha...
We were a weak but united band back then, probably due to our very compact size.
The day darren sim came to observe us we were struggling w our xmas celebration piece that we were supposed to perform for the Swami old folks home visit. He really has courage to take up such a lousy band. Some time before our SYF 2 years ago he said (out of anger i am guessing) something about taking over us was jepordising his career as a conductor. However, during his speech after the SYF judging he said something totally diff (i fgt what he said). But still he stuck thru w us and now our juniors thru out this tough battle, he deserved the credit for the silver medal.
Cheers to Mr Sim!
