my random sparks of insantiy
1st day
[ 10:58 PM ]
I just reached home. Sigh, its such a long, tiring and unfruitful day. Grandpa reached changi at 3.47pm, but bcos he had to wait for the wheelchair to come, he only came out at 4.30. I practically waited for 1 hour with an empty stomach. My ah ma and grandauntie came with him.
We went straight to Mt Elizabeth Hospital A&E. And me being the most 'eng' person among all had to fill up all te forms. Then wet to guardian to gt my ah gong's diapers (1st time buying adult diapers), on the way back frm guardian my mum was aldry in the processof registration and my ah gong was being pushed into his ward and my ah ma was chasing him! It was such a funny sight to see.
Upon reaching his ward, the nurse had another stack of forms to fill and i was the one being interogated on ah gong's particulars and health history and stuff like that (bcos the nurse doesnt speak chinese nor malay). The worst part is that i know nothing abt it! I dun even know his birth date! At least now i know its 11 Nov 1933.
Now the nurse knows me, calls me by my name. I really respect nurses, (nice ones only) they do all the dirty work. And in time of dire need, they're there around the clock to make ur life better. Haha...
My ah gong has a mild stroke, and his vein somewhere in his neck is blocked (thk God it didnt burst). The stroke caused him to have constipation and urine retention for 4 days, he was in great pain and discomfort in the lower abdomen part. He's ok now, the nurses put a tube in and he was alot better. Thk u Nurse Annie Gurung (the nurse there, the super nice nurse who now knows my name, an keeps on calling me and me alone if there's anything that we have to take note of)
Tmr wld be an even longer day. Must gather all my strength for tmr.
